Kinja'd!!!

For a brief moment in time, I got to experience what having a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage would be like. And now the moment is gone. My love remains. Sigh.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Side note: Aston Martin owners are the chillest dudes ever. Seriously the nicest people. And uh, AMA? This actual car recently placed third at the Cobble Beach Concours. Present value is absolutely sinful.

The steering wheel’s on upside down. British build quality.

The owner insisted we have tea after the shoot. Most British day ever.

Fun History Fact:

The steering wheels for most 50's-60's Aston Martins were sourced from the grilles of junked Mercedes ML430s

I know its a DB6 not DB5, but how many times did you think about 007?

The engines in these are massive. I had no clue a 4.0 could look that big.

Did it feel like anything like a mid 60s to 70s muscle car of that era?

Nope. Felt like a 4/3rd scale Datsun Roadster. Stiff, lithe, agile, and willing. But with pony car power. Not as fast as a Corvette but still quick.

Did it have good rear end control? In other words was wheel spin easily controlled or did the rear try to come around like many cars of that era?

I didn’t push a $700,000 car hard enough to know the answer to that :P

Yep probably not a good idea. I’ve hooned on a DB9 and an older Ferrari but with the owners encouragement. I don’t think the two together would have been that much.
